Be as in-depth as possible in your short answer questions. We discourage the use of generative AI, e.g. ChatGPT, in your responses. Generative AI rarely produce answers that meet the hiring standards for GSG. Below is the rubric used to evaluate your applications.
- Questions are thoroughly answered. There was a clear effort to answer all parts of the question and the answers are intentional.
- Connects relevant experiences and abilities to the role. The application describes how previous professional, volunteer, and/or leadership experiences have prepared the application to successfully fill an e-board role and associated responsibilities. The applicant should share what values and priorities they bring to the board.
- Initiatives and ideas. The application provides new programs and initiatives that can help improve the graduate student experience and can be realistically implemented. Previous attendance at GSG-hosted events, while not necessary, can help provide ideas.
The applicant's resume and short answer responses weigh heavily in the decision to grant an interview. Put your best foot forward!
