The Keck Human Rights Clinic provides forensic evaluation and documentation to any immigrant or displaced individual residing in the United States who requires documentation of maltreatment in order for justice to be carried out. We additionally provide

Our mission is 3-fold:
1. Justice: Members of the USC-Keck Human Rights Clinic advocate on behalf of asylum seekers by providing pro bono forensic medical and psychological evaluations to corroborate claims of maltreatment.
2. Education: Medical students are given the opportunity to assist with forensic evaluations and report drafting, allowing students to gain experience as advocates for health and human rights. Medical students also learn about global issues and cultural competence through assisting with these examinations.
3. Training: The USC Keck HRC hosts nationwide training sessions for physicians to gain the skills necessary to perform forensic evaluations and register under PHR's umbrella of providers.

The mission of the student organization Love & Time is to support the nonprofit’s dedication to providing mental health therapy, support, and resources in a timely manner to individuals who are essential to our society’s well-being, including but not limited to maternal mental health, law enforcement and disenfranchised children and their families.Therapy can be very expensive for those without health insurance and it can take months for insurance companies to provide help. Access to a professional between a 72-96-hour period for members in our community experiencing mental challenges is essential to providing them with the tools to treat themselves and others with compassion.
It is scientifically proven that newborns who are stimulated through their parents’ touch, voice, heartbeat, and attention are significantly more likely to thrive as adults compared to children who lack these stimuli. These connections and associations at birth have long-lasting effects that carry on through our adult lives and impact how we self-regulate through stressful experiences, how humans love and connect with others, and build self-esteem. Targeting mental health support for postpartum mothers and families is our ticket to having a positive impact on child development and improving home environments.
We decided to call it Love & Time because those are the most important four letter words in one’s life. Time to grow old through reflection and experience joy, and love to build relationships, friendships, and connection with family.

The Trojan Forum is a non-partisan forum for the expression and debate of a wide range of ideas. The Forum organizes panels, debates, and talks by leading experts and distinguished persons on issues both topical and timeless. Forum events are open to the public. Admission to Forum events is free for USC students, staff, and faculty. An admission fee may be required for other event attendees, which will be collected at the event.

The Forum is run entirely by undergraduate students at the University of Southern California from a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds. The Forum provides students valuable first-hand experience and a channel to explore and challenge the ideas that motivate them.

Trojan Health Interpretation Services' primary mission is to fulfill a demand for interpreters for the Limited English Proficient population in order to guarantee medical services for all. We will provide free health interpretation and translation services for people in and around the USC area. Another primary mission is to train bilingual students to become ad hoc interpreters through extensive medical vocabulary training and practice situations. We seek to provide our services to grassroots organizations that are working with limited resources; usually, these organizations provide free services and don├óÔé¼Ôäót have the funds or the organizational structure to have a full-time interpreter. Ultimately, Trojan Health Interpretation Services actively works to provide free ad hoc interpretation services to the vast Limited English Proficient population in Los Angeles.

First off, THIS members will learn important medical skills and terminology in the target language which they will then be able to utilize in the future. Not only that, but they will become equipped with the tools and skills to interpret because of their interpreter etiquette training. If a member decides to pursue a career path in medicine, these two skills combined could help them become a better health professional and allow them to aid as many people as possible. Furthermore, members will be able to get an inside look at what happens in interactions between patients and physicians while simultaneously positively impacting the local Limited English Proficient community.

The USC U.S.-China Institute informs public discussion of the evolving and multidimensional U.S.-China relationship through policy-relevant research, graduate and undergraduate training, and professional development programs for teachers, journalists, and officials. It produces compelling public events, widely-viewed documentary films, and the popular magazine US-China Today. USCI was established in 2006 as a university initiative. Its creation was first announced in Beijing during a Board of Trustees trip to China. (Click here for the Oct. 2006 announcement.) In fall 2011, USCI became part of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, whose programs include those on public diplomacy, new Chinese media, economics reporting and health journalism.

The UNCHAINED SCHOLARS are a group of formerly incarcerated MSW, DSW, and Ph.D. students working with ally members to dismantle the barriers faced by people impacted by the criminal punishment system. Upholding the values and principles of the profession of social work, the Unchained Scholars challenge beliefs, policies, and systems that marginalize, stigmatize, and dehumanize individuals with criminal records contributing to a cycle of economic and racialized oppression. Through advocacy and diverse community building, the Unchained Scholars live the change they want to see.
