Our mission is 3-fold:
1. Justice: Members of the USC-Keck Human Rights Clinic advocate on behalf of asylum seekers by providing pro bono forensic medical and psychological evaluations to corroborate claims of maltreatment.
2. Education: Medical students are given the opportunity to assist with forensic evaluations and report drafting, allowing students to gain experience as advocates for health and human rights. MHAES is a student-led, experience focused program designed to provide education staff with a better understanding of various mental health issues from the perspective of previous students. Each curriculum is designed by students with personal experience with that specific mental health topic, and all material is reviewed and approved by a relevant psychology professional. Student support staff are often some of the first individuals to be notified when a student is struggling with some sort of emotional/psychological issue. While they are not directly responsible for providing mental health care, they are at the front lines of protecting students’ mental health. Our mission is to provide accurate education on the unique symptoms, struggles, and treatments that various psychological conditions receive in order to allow staff to facilitate conversations with students in a productive and empathetic manner, as well as to direct students to appropriate resources and/or professionals. Furthermore, many mental health conditions are surrounded by stigma, stereotypes, and shame in today’s society. This has led to a widespread fundamental misunderstanding of many mental health conditions, which inhibit many individuals’ ability to accurately recognize signs, facilitate conversations, and refer appropriate help to students suffering with these conditions. By having students with personal experience design the curriculum, we tear down these stereotypes and allow insight into what these conditions can really look like for students and the impacts they can have. Through this method, we hope to provide accurate and accessible education on what these conditions can look like and what education staff can do to help.

Camp Phoenix Family is a medical student-run day event for children who survived a serious burn injury in partnership with the LAG+USC Burn Unit and attending doctors. The aftermath of a burn injury often can involve severe physical limitations, considerable stress, and diminished self-esteem. Through Phoenix Camp Family, we will provide resources for these children to cultivate a sense of belonging and solidarity with others who survived a serious burn injury. The Society of Science Scholars (SSS) is a dedicated community for students interested in pursuing honors programs in natural science majors at the University of Southern California. We are a group of motivated individuals committed to supporting each other’s academic and professional growth. Through workshops, mentorship, and tutoring, we provide the resources and guidance needed for success in both graduate school and industry careers. Southern California Healthcare Consulting Group (SCHCG) stands as the University of Southern California’s first student-run healthcare-focused consulting organization. Since launching in 2023, Southern California Healthcare Consulting Group (SCHCG) has partnered with 10 clients internationally, providing real-lime healthcare consulting experience across various project scopes. Our organization teaches interested students the basics of healthcare consulting, technical and soft skills for healthcare consulting, and navigating recruiting into this competitive industry. In addition, we have hosted 6 guest speakers across established firms (including McKinsey, Bain & Company, PwC, and Deloitte regarding each firm's respective healthcare opportunities), and will continue to provide connections with industry experts going forward. With our niche experience in healthcare consulting and passion for expanding health equity, our members have been placed in top firms for internship and full-time opportunities, including Boston Consulting Group, Accenture, Trinity Life Sciences. As a result, each member receives mentorship through our alumni and guest speakers to help them achieve their professional aspirations.
