We invite you to become a mentor or mentee with the Women in Engineering (WIE) MENTORSHIP Program! Applications for the Fall 2024 semester will re-open in August 2024!

The WiE MENTOR program aims to help undergraduate and master's women and non-binary students by pairing them with senior students. The program aims to provide students with a source of support and guidance while helping to build community among all Viterbi women and non-binary students. WiE mentors will insp​ire students and help increase the retention of womxn in engineering.

Being a Mentor – Commitments

Contact mentee(s) at least once a week. This can be an email, telephone call, text, coffee, or dinner.

Attend WiE MENTOR mentor orientation on September 18th.

Attend WiE MENTOR Reveal and Reception on September 20th.

Attend at least 2 WiE events per semester.

Enthusiasm and willingness to answer questions from first year students about classes, engineering majors, student organizations, research, internships, etc.

Being a Mentee – Benefits and Commitments

Attend at least 2 WiE events per semester with your mentor.

Access to a resource, role model, and source of support.

Expand personal and professional networks.

Increase confidence, motivation, and self-awareness.

By joining WiE MENTOR you will also join the new Viterbi Link online mentorship platform that will allow you as a mentor or mentee to connect with Viterbi alumni worldwide! Alumni will provide career, academic, and life advice over a few weeks, or engage in 30 minute flash mentoring sessions.
