Design & Competition

Viterbi-affiliated undergraduate design teams and student organizations who will be submitting a project to participate in a regional or national competition may apply for funding for the design and construction of their project. To be considered for funding, groups must submit a Design & Construction Proposal to the Competition & Design Team Funding Committee. Funding is limited and varies from year to year. No group, team, or project is guaranteed funding. Previously funded groups are not guaranteed funding in subsequent years. Any funding granted can only be used for the academic year in which it was awarded. All expenses and purchases must be made by the final day of the spring semester.

Proposals must include all of the following:

    • Detailed description of the proposed project design and plans for construction.
    • Detailed description of chemicals, electronics, and/or equipment that will be used.

    • Names of faculty members or others who will serve as advisors to the project.

The above list of requirements is the minimum; detailed descriptions will be looked on favorably.
