Viterbi Design & Competition Teams
The Advanced Spacecraft Propulsion and Energy (ASPEN) Laboratory is a student group dedicated to designing, building and testing high-fidelity models of nuclear propulsion and spacecraft power systems.
The AeroDesign Team designs, builds, and flies competition-winning RC aircraft in a supportive, hands-on environment where members can learn and understand flight in a practical setting outside of the classroom.
Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Design Team is a student-run team that designs and builds AUVs to compete in the Robosub competition. Our projects provide members with a hands-on engineering experience that can be utilized in their future careers.
The USC EERI (Earthquake Engineering Research Institute) serves as a place for engineering students interested in seismic, structural, and architectural engineering to come together and create model designs using the latest engineering softwares and industry practices. Each year, USC EERI designs and builds a scale model of an earthquake-resistant skyscraper and sends a team of students to the national SDC (Seismic Design Competition).
EWB-USA USC Chapter builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs and equip leaders to solve the world's most pressing challenges.
The ethos behind starting the Field Robotics Lab (FRL) is to allow for an organization that serves undergraduate students who have a keen interest on a career in mobile robotics for applications in space, scientific research, agricultural, humanitarian aid, or defense. Our aim is to lead university-level technical projects that equip USC undergraduates with practical engineering skills, beyond-classroom knowledge, and inspiration that they carry into their careers to improve our society.
Each year, the USC Recumbent Vehicle Design Team creates a vehicle to compete in the ASME Human Powered Vehicle Challenge. We design, build, and race the vehicle ourselves.
USCRPL is a student-run research lab that designs, builds, and launches high-performance amateur rockets. It was founded with the mission to be the first undergraduate student group in the world to send a rocket to space which was accomplished in April of 2019. Since then, USCRPL has developed a newfound goal to create a stable, reliable space program where launching to space becomes regular.
SC Formula Electric is a team that designs, builds, and races an electric vehicle in the Formula SAE competition. It is independent of SC Racing, which competes in FSAE but under a different class of vehicle.
Our team's goal is to design, build, and fund, and race USC's first-ever full-size solar-powered vehicle in the Formula Sun Grand Prix and American Solar Challenge races. We challenge the norms of transportation and advocate for a sustainable future.
We are a collegiate design team that designs, builds, tests, and competes a 1/3rd scale Formula 1 car every single year in the national FSAE event.
