About Us

The mission of GAASA is to build community, strengthen identity, and support the academic, cultural, and personal growth of generational African American students at USC. We aim to create a space for connection, education, and empowerment while welcoming all students who wish to engage, learn, and support our community. Through programming, dialogue, advocacy, and service, GAASA works to honor our history, uplift our members, and contribute positively to the USC campus.

Members Benefits

Members of GAASA gain access to a supportive community centered on the experiences and history of generational African American students. The organization provides opportunities for leadership development, peer mentorship, cultural education, and open dialogue about identity, advocacy, and campus life. Members also benefit from workshops, community-building events, volunteer opportunities, and collaborations with campus partners. GAASA offers a space to connect, learn, and actively contribute to strengthening the presence and wellbeing of generational African American students at USC, while welcoming all students who wish to engage, learn, and support the mission.
