Hosted by Faculty in Residence, Dr. Brendesha Tynes welcomes you to gather:
"This Black History Month event will promote cultural awareness through a tour of the California African American Museum and a family-style meal in Dr. B’s apartment. We will visit several of the current exhibitions, including American Artist’s Shaper of God: Apple Valley Autonomy, which focuses on the work of the science fiction writer Octavia Butler. In the artworks students will view, American Artist not only celebrates the prolific work that Butler produced from the 1960s to 2006, but also calls attention to the invisible familial supports that enabled her incredible career. Dinner from Fixin’s Soul Kitchen will be provided."

Food Provided (Event Attendees will be hosted for dinner from FIXINS.)
