Mission
The mission of The Nucleus is to present the latest in science and technology in an easily digestible manner and to maintain accessibility for all readers. Our students will be the voice of scientific information literacy within the USC student body and prepare and publish media that represents a community driven by a desire to have an impact on global well-being. We encourage our students to find inspiration in everything, and to put together media that ties these elements back to a scientific rational foundation. We will remain dedicated to serving the USC student body by means of credibility, transparency, and community.

Membership Benefits
Members of The Nucleus will be part of a community of students passionate about improving information literacy within the USC student body. Students will do so as writers, editors, and/or graphic designers publishing articles, infographics, and/or podcasts every 6 weeks. Students who join as writers and editors will have the opportunity to first author their own work in the form of short-form articles. Students who join as graphic designers will be afforded the opportunity to build their portfolio through designs for articles and infographics. Students will also be given the opportunity to be the voice of The Nucleus, through our podcast multimedia team. Students who join weekly meetings will also be provided professional development opportunities, including workshops, volunteering, and discussions with USC faculty and other guest speakers who are experts in the various fields of science, technology, and advocacy.
