Mission
Sigma Phi Delta serves as a premier social-professional fraternity for students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a values-based organization, we aim to support members in achieving academic excellence, honing professional competencies, and forming meaningful connections.
Our membership fosters an environment where members can flourish personally and professionally. We provide opportunities for members to network with fellow STEM students, professors, and industry professionals. This allows members to build strong professional relationships and gain mentorship opportunities.
At the core of our organization is a spirit of service, collaboration, and lifelong brotherhood. Our organization unites members around shared goals and values. We promote integrity, responsible citizenship, and commitment to advancing the STEM fields.
Members are encouraged to participate in professional development workshops, networking events, community service initiatives, and social activities. These experiences allow members to strengthen communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
By joining Sigma Phi Delta, members gain a supportive community that motivates them to reach their full potential. Our alumni network contains over 13,000 accomplished professionals who provide mentorship and career assistance. We empower members to work hard in the classroom, develop professionally, play hard with friends, and create unforgettable memories that will last beyond their university years.
Membership Benefits
At Sigma Phi Delta’s Alpha Chapter at USC, we offer our members more than just a fraternity. We offer them a chance to grow as engineers and as individuals, by providing them with various opportunities and benefits, such as:
Exclusive social and brotherhood events, such as hikes, retreats, beach days, and barbecues, where they can bond with their fellow brothers and have fun. Our fraternity is built on the values of friendship, loyalty, and service, and we foster a strong sense of community and belonging among our members.
Networking events, professional development, and resume workshops, where they can learn from and connect with our vast alumni network of engineers that spans from 1924 till the present day. Our alumni have worked in diverse fields and industries, and are eager to share their insights and experiences with our members.
Leadership opportunities, where they can take on roles and responsibilities within the fraternity and make a positive impact. Our members can run for executive positions, lead committees, organize events, mentor new members, and more. By being involved in the fraternity, our members develop valuable skills and qualities that will help them succeed in their future endeavors.
Academic support, where they can receive help and guidance from their brothers on their coursework, projects, and research. Our members have access to our study rooms, library, tutoring sessions, and peer review groups. We also encourage our members to collaborate and innovate with each other on engineering challenges and competitions.
