About Us

The American Lung Association Collegiate Council (ALACC) at USC is dedicated to advancing lung health through education, advocacy, and community action. We work to create a tobacco-free future, promote clean air initiatives, and empower students to engage in public health efforts that benefit our campus and the broader Los Angeles community.

Members Benefits

Members take part in hands-on workshops, including learning to use a stethoscope and recognizing different lung sounds. We host semesterly cigarette cleanups and recycle more than 2,000 cigarette butts from campus each year. Students gain meaningful advocacy experience, such as speaking with Los Angeles City Council members, and meet guest speakers ranging from physicians to researchers and public health leaders. We also build community through socials like potlucks and movie nights.
