The Viterbi-affiliated student organization, SciBAT, is seeking volunteers to assist in hosting the USC Invitational Tournament, taking place over the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend.

This tournament is a Science Olympiad-style competition where students from grades 6–12 compete in various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, inquiry, and engineering. These fields are divided into "events" that cover specific areas within STEM, such as astronomy and forensic analysis. Competitors engage in various formats, including pencil-and-paper tests, pre-built device demonstrations, and multi-format challenges.
Volunteers will help grade competitors' tests and/or assist event supervisors with tasks such as timing and measuring. Shifts are available for either a full 8-hour day or 4-hour half-day shifts.

Volunteers are required to complete a Livescan fingerprint-based background check on Friday, November 21 or Friday, December 5. Details will be provided after signing up to volunteer.

For further inquiries, please contact SciBAT at scibatsc@usc.edu.
