USC Formula Electric is a student-led engineering team committed to developing the next generation of innovators through the complete design and construction of a high-performance electric race car for the Formula SAE Electric competition. We empower our members to take ownership of every aspect of the vehicle—from welding the chassis and developing software, to sourcing critical components and presenting to industry judges—giving them a holistic engineering experience rooted in collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Membership Benefits
USC Formula Electric offers members a direct pipeline into engineering careers through hands-on, industry-relevant project experience. Every member contributes to the full lifecycle of a fully electric Formula-style race car—from initial design and CAD modeling to manufacturing, testing, debugging, and on-track validation. Our lead-based mentorship structure connects new members with experienced teammates, providing guidance in both technical development and career navigation. By working alongside passionate, technically skilled peers to build real-world systems, our members graduate with the kind of experience that stands out in a competitive job market.
