About Us
The purpose of the organization is to enrich student education, promote career development, and networking opportunities related to the field of Human Resources.
The Human Resources Management Association at the University of Southern California (HRMA at USC) was founded in 2020 as the very first student organization affiliated with Bovard College. Since then, we’ve grown into a vibrant, virtual community where students from every background can explore HR, connect with industry professionals, and prepare for meaningful careers in the people space. Along the way, we’ve also become a place where students build lasting friendships and genuine connections.
Our mission is to empower students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally by fostering growth, collaboration, and opportunity. As the official USC student chapter of SHRM and PIHRA, HRMA connects you to triple the resources, triple the networking, and triple the support as you navigate your path in Human Resources.
We’re guided by core values that make our community unique: Think Big, Dream Big (no idea is too small to spark something amazing), Thoughtful Optimism (every challenge has a solution, and we’ll find it together), and Have Fun Along the Way (connections and integrity are at the heart of HR, and we never forget the ‘human’ in human resources).
Through engaging panels, workshops, and networking opportunities, HRMA offers a welcoming space where students can grow, share ideas, and form friendships that last well beyond USC. Membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, whether you’re just curious about HR or already passionate about making a difference in the workplace.
